Got the wing mounted, turbine cowl painted,, & modified a duel water pickup rudder, & have that mounted. Missing graphics,, I 'am ordering from Callie, @ Callie graphics. She has awesome prices, & does excellent work. A lot of R/C'rs get graphics from her. After the graphics order, I will be ordering the 3660-2150 kv inrunner. That's coming out of Chiner,, so it will probably take a bit to show.

Look'ie what I got yesterday !!
Had 2 of these ''way'' back in the day. They were originally powered by 2 - brushed 05 car motors in a gear drive,, with a micro switch ''so called'' speed control., & powered by 2 - 6 or 7 cell NIcds… They ran like the dickens for around 30sec.,, & were pretty much done within a minute & a half. LOL !!.. They were also ''very heavy'' with that set up...

I74 Ran out of space on last post.. Anyways,, Have been looking for another one for years,, to put in a light weight water cooled brushless set up ,, & power it with 2 -3s 2200 30c lipo's in parallel.. I was real lucky to find this one from a wanted ad that I posted on RCG.... This kit is from 1991,has never been finished,, & is over all in very good shape. 5 months ago

I74 Added again,, The motor I' am going with, is a Surpass Rocket - 3660- 2150kv inrunner. It will have a silicone water cooling jacket,, & the ESC will be a 60/70a water cooled ''shark'' one. Free rpm's @ the prop, should be over 27k ! Under load should be around 23k. Figure it will be ''at least'' 2lbs. lighter than my originals, & should do 40 easy,, plus run 8 - 10min. with out breaking a sweat. It's... Show more 5 months ago

Micro 17.5 brushless - 3s Unlimited Hydroplane that I was ''real lucky'' to pick up last spring. Little sucker scoots,, & does over 30mph !!
It want's to start taking off the water if you push it much past 30.. Cruising it in the upper 20's,, is only around 1/4 throttle !
Front canard wing is adjustable,, & I have that wing adjusted all the way down in front, plus the batt. ect. moved as far forward as possible,, to keep the bow down.
It rides really high off the water, & there is hardly anything touching,, other than a bit of prop, rudder,, & a smidge of sponson ride plates.
I had been...

I74 Yea me too !! Have always had a soft spot for Unlimited Hydro's... Had 4 Miss Budweiser's over the years of various sorts, & sizes.. Even had an 1/8th scale one, that was powered by a 26cc Zenoah,, with a tuned pipe ect… Am totally back into electrics now, & that's what I started with on boats back in the day.... They don't stink,, & maintenance is far less than Gas & Nitro stuff,, & they are... Show more 6 months ago

Crappy pic of me before a cruise..... Had 4 layers of clothes under my old Plymouth racing jacket,, as it was chilly that day.... Sucks looking ''a lot '' older than you feel,, some days …....

Smokin Joe Looks like fun! Being a couple inches of the ground makes you feel like you are going a lot faster too! The karts handle so well on asphalt, sometimes it likes to throw you out of the seat. 7 months ago

Did some research with comparing my elect. set up with an equivalent set up with a gas engine... My set up & performance is a bit better than a stock / governed 7 hp. 4 stroke, with a 6 - 1 gearing... That's pretty good !

I74 shared a photo. 8 months ago

Finally finished !! Took it out for a 40 min. shake down maiden,, & it did awesome !! .. Ended up going with 3 packs, for a total of 42ah. ect. ..Run times should get over an hr. easy... It pulls hills like nothing,, & frigg'n screams on the flat's ect.

I74 Thanks Tony ! .. I actually acquired the 4th pack, & am now running 4 of them in parallel... Am definitely getting my 1 hr.+ run time also... It free wheels about 40mph,, with the 6.9 - 1 gearing I' am running.. Plenty fast & efficient ,, for Subdivision - ''Lithium land cruising'',, with some pretty good hills.. It draws a pretty good crowd too...With the 4th pack, AUW came out to around... Show more 8 months ago

I74 With my 6..9 - 1 gearing, Joe,, & 14.8 tall back tires,, it won't smoke the tires,, & is pretty much just set up for hills & all around cruising & speed on the flats... If I put 8 - 10' inch slicks on the back,, it would probably smoke the tires no problem... It's still ''surprisingly'' pretty quick though,, with the gearing & tires I' am running. .. I 7 months ago

Got the new king pin bearings pressed in & the steering pretty much buttoned up... You will notice the blue spacer bushings above the kingpin/spindles.. Those are the urethane automotive sway bar link bushings that I incorporated to lower the kingpin/spindles pretty much all the way down to the bottom of the yokes for optimum road clearance & a wee bit of dampening...Ordered the 13s- 4p packs also.

I74 Another pic.... Motors & controllers ect. will get ordered next week. 9 months ago

I74 Wait till you see what I came up with for King pin spacer bushings. Made them out of Moog ''blue'' urethane sway bar link bushings. They will also add in a bit of dampening,, plus they don't weigh Jack squat,, compared to stacks of washers ect,. 10 months ago

Been chipp'n away at it.. Waiting for a clear sunny day so I can shoot the really cool blue final coat,, & then start final assy. Cut 2 1/2 off each side of the axel, it's now 35'. Also cut down the motor mount, & made the right cassette cradle brace out of aluminum.

Rims & tires on the floor ahead of the Kart,, are for sale,, as they are mismatched, & to wide for the fronts anyway..The race tires ,, we won't be using either,, as we are putting on those Carlisle Turf saver 2's,, as previously posted. 10 months ago
