I set the Champ aside and trying to finish my Byron Glasair for the Indiana Fliers club fun fly this Saturday. Come out and join us.
Start on the rudder. 1/8" spruce strips laminated together to form the rudder hoop. Soaked an ammonia overnight before bending.
Also have the main struts built for the landing gear. They are made from 4130 tubing. Took several shifts to these fit and silver soldered together.
And the left wing made it off the bench, just a few details to finish. Now I can roll out the fuselage drawings.
